Not Too Busy
Too Busy. These words have a tendency to raise my hackles. I don’t ever want to be too busy.
I think too busy means I’m missing real life. Too busy means I’m swept up by the current panic or the flashy trend.
Too busy means I’m surviving.
Because when we are trapped in survival, it is too easy to believe we can’t do anything powerful or meaningful or worthy. It is too easy for the day to wrap around us and to feel like the only choice is to react
I’m wondering if the way to step over (or maybe to step on) too busy, is to find the celebration.
Life isn’t all gloom and doom.
It isn’t all hurry and scurry.
It isn’t meant for survival and reaction.
It is meant to be good. Maybe it won’t be easy, in fact, it’s a guarantee that it won’t be easy. But it can be good. We can celebrate.
Let’s not wait until life is perfect — until we have it all together — to celebrate. Don’t be too busy to celebrate. Because celebration saves us when we find it in the middle of the mess.
