{One.} I celebrate forgiveness, the kind of forgiveness that completely heals a heart that was harshly wounded, but is now repaired. Forgiveness that happens inside a heart, not from the actions of another. I celebrate understanding to my core the way forgiveness is extended, rather than received.
{Two.} I celebrate vintage slices. If you missed why I’m posting a vintage slice each day this month as a gift to the slicing community, find out here.
{Three.} I celebrate the way I’m enamored by this community. Too often social media is laced with superficial celebrations.Things are posted for attention or accolades or appearance. We get an unrealistic version of everyone else’s life. Even more concerning is we can get an ungrateful view of our own lives.
But not here. CELEBRATE This Week honors pure celebrations. Comparison and competition do not find fertile ground here. This enamors me.
In a world with a rat race, here we carve out space to celebrate real. We are intentional about finding the celebrations in our own lives and encouraging celebration in others’ lives.
I love this. For 72 weeks we have lived celebration. We have documented celebration. We have encouraged celebration. I hope you’ll consider inviting a friend to walk this journey too.
{Four.} I celebrate having space in my head to write the words that are unleashing themselves in my heart. I can’t wait to wake up before the sun on Saturday morning, brew a cup of coffee, curl my legs under and clack words. Words stringing sentences and sentences weaving paragraphs and paragraphs stacking one upon the next becoming a chapter. And chapters add up to a book almost fully drafted — a book about adoption and motherhood and faith…tattered faith sustained by celebration.
I celebrate my writing process that was
interrupted 18 months ago, and now stronger than ever.

I look forward to writing these posts. Some weeks it is challenging to think about what to write, what to celebrate. But I think it is also those times that it's important to look for these celebrations. So, thank you.
Ruth,
I am glad to be a part of the celebrating here, where you write too. Thanking you for celebrations!
I love Poetry Friday, but all through the day I am thinking about what I will write to celebrate for Saturday, ever a fitting capper to the week! Thanks Ruth!
I love your vintage slices!! Thank you for this community of celebration!!! 72 weeks?!?!? WOW! That's quite an accomplishment. I'm so proud to be part of this community.
I can't begin to explain how happy it makes me to come here and read the celebrations of everyone. This is my happy little corner of the world. If it wasn't here, I'd still be finding JOY in the week, still be celebrating my Friday Favorites. But this community lets me celebrate with people who understand the need to celebrate the simple moments in our lives.
It has been a hard school year. I appreciate the reminder and the place to lift up celebrations
Thanks for the vintage slices. I am enjoying them as I work through the challenge for the first time. 🙂
